Board awards £32 million to UK charities working abroad

Vulnerable children and young people in many of the world's poorest areas were among the beneficiaries of £32 million of grants awarded in June. The grants, awarded to 158 UK-based charities working abroad will help provide basic needs such as food, healthcare, sanitation and education.

The awards included: a £6.5 million for job training for those in extreme poverty £5.6 million to healthcare projects £4.1 million to children and young people

  • £3 million supporting charities in central and eastern Europe
  • £2.8 million for managing local environments
  • £2.6 million to women and girls
  • £2.5 million to people with disabilities
  • £1 million to provide clean water and sanitation.
