Charities Board announces new International Grants programmeThe National Lottery Charities Board today published details of its fourth International grants programme for UK-based charities working overseas, which opens in September 1999. The Charities Board seeks applications from voluntary organisations working to fund development projects that will make a significant improvement to the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people. The Board will focus on projects benefiting people in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Central and Eastern Europe. Application lines for International grants programme open on 20 September 1999 and close on 17 December 1999. Completed applications must be received by 5pm, 28 January 2000. Grants announcements will be made in Summer 2000. The Board will be running helper seminars throughout the UK in the Autumn to advise applicants on how to apply.
