Announcing the grant recipients, Tom Jones, Chair of the Wales Committee, said:‘I am delighted to announce the first grants just seven weeks after the scheme opened for applications. With our Small Grants Scheme we aim to reach smaller charities and communities who might not apply to our other grants programmes. I hope many other small groups will apply and the committee looks forward to funding more projects in the coming months. Based on the experience gained from the scheme in Wales, it is proposed to introduce it to other parts of the UK in the coming year.’ The Small Grants Scheme awards grants of £500 to £5,000. Any group set up for charitable purposes can apply provided their income is less than£10,000 and they are not currently in receipt of a Board grant.
